Houston Texas Medical Center Hand and Upper Extremity Specialist, Dr. Evan Collins, Receives Top Honors from Fellow Physicians and Patients

Dr. Collins is Among the few Orthopedic Surgeons to Earn a Spot on “Texas Super Doctors,” “H Texas Top Docs,” “Health & Fitness Doctors’ Choice” and “Best Doctors in America” Listings in a Single Year

An innovator and educator, Dr. Evan Collins has for years garnered the respect of colleagues, students and patients alike. But in a rare achievement, he earns a spot on the top physician listings in Texas - while also recognized nationally among Best Doctors in America.

Dr. Collins has for several years been named among the peer nominated Texas Super Doctors and the peer and patient nominated H Texas Top Docs, but this is the first year he has also received recognition from Health & Fitness Sports Magazine’s Doctors’ Choice and the nationally renowned Best Doctors in America.

Dr. Collins’ dedication to research and improving patient care has captured the attention of both national and international orthopedic associations during his 20-year career and now the top physician listings - to which many in the medical community aspire.

The honors came following the long awaited completion of an international surgical reference guide, Operative Techniques in Orthopedic Surgery, to which he contributed and the acceptance of a comprehensive study on chronic tennis elbow to appear soon in Current Orthopedic Practice.

“I’m truly honored to be recognized by these well-respected organizations. My focus always remains on my patients and improving the medical options we make available to them. This recognition is secondary, though much appreciated,” said Dr. Collins.

Dr. Collins hold a faculty appointment at Weill Cornell Medical College, sharing his research on less invasive treatment options for degenerative joint conditions, common tendinopathies and debilitating hand and wrist conditions, including carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s disease and de Quervain’s Tendonitis.

Formerly the Chief of Hand & Upper Extremity at Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Collins has been awarded some of the highest nationally recorded patient satisfaction scores as the Hand & Upper Extremity Specialist at the Methodist Center for Orthopedic Surgery - Medical Center.
